Re: Pokémon GO!

I'm playing, but I'm only level 6. I'm limited to my walking and movement, so I don't actually get to go far at all...I think once Theo is born we'll be play a little bit more because I can go for longer walks and adventures. (in theory) I think I have 25 pokemon, but it won't let me log in right no...

Writer's Conquest

I'm almost done with Thomas Fowler's Writer's Conquest book and it's been great. I've been working through it with another author friend. It's all about branding your author-self and how to achieve what you want marketing wise with it. I'm excited to really start implementing my branding after I fin...

Re: A software program to help write your novel

I used YWriter for a little while, it wasn't bad, but it didn't fit what I needed for novel crafting.

Re: The Value of Editing?

I use two editors (now) when I used to only use one. I do think that editing goes a long way towards good reviews and word of mouth. But I also find that even with the two editors, there are still people who find something wrong with the book, be it they don't believe in the Oxford comma, or I happe...

Re: Writing people with disabilities - hearing loss

There is an entire deaf culture, this shows only a part of it. But it is such a brilliant design and concept to have something built around that culture. Amazing.

Re: Needls - Simplified social advertising

I've seen very little return with any paid advertising, I'm so iffy about it.

Re: Examples of 'The Hero's Journey'

I learned about the Scene/ sequel format at the Write Your Heart Out event. It's something that I kind of did subconsciously, but wasn't aware that it was an actual approach. It makes a lot of sense and I find myself consciously thinking about it now as I write and edit.

Re: Author Website Questions

I pay $11 a month through Moniker I believe for my domain names (each). I host on Blogger so it's free, but that's because I am vary minimal on any HTML or CSS or design knowledge and Blogger was easier for me than WordPress (my husband managed my WordPress for me) I find having my blog front and ce...

Re: How to use social media to (not) promote yourself

I found his follow up article a bit better than the first one. Where I understand what he's getting at in the first one, he should have mentioned a lot of the 'do this instead' in the article. (I've read the Shut up one before, didn't realize he'd written a follow up) He's got a lot of good points a...

Re: Humble Writers

Ben, I had the same problem with PPW. When I first moved down here I thought it was just because I was younger, but the last time I attended a Write Brain I ran into a similar experience. I've also noticed that with a few local writers as well. It's rough and makes it hard to network with the right ...
